Solitary trees
Solitary trees are specimens that stand alone in a garden. This separate placement allows the tree to come into its own. Thus, you create a powerful visual statement in the garden or landscape. Often these trees are used as eye-catchers or to accentuate specific areas in a garden. Thanks to their appearance and placement, they attract attention and give structure to an outdoor space.
The solitary tree as an eye-catcher
Solitary trees are ultimate eye-catchers in garden designs. They add character regardless of the style of the outdoor space. Because of their imposing size and lush crown, these trees can serve as a natural anchor point in the garden; a place to which the eye is automatically drawn.
A wide range of solitary trees
At Smits Tree Nursery, we offer a wide range of solitary trees in a variety of species, sizes and shapes. Think evergreen, flowering and multi-stemmed specimens. Our trees are carefully grown and maintained so that they are in optimal condition upon delivery. During the planting season (from October to May) choose a tree from the open ground, with wire rootball. But even out of season there is plenty of opportunity through our containerized trees. In fact, these can be planted year-round.
Some of the species we offer:
- Quercus ilex
- Fagus sylvatica
- Acer palmatum
- Liquidambar styraciflua
- Ginkgo biloba
- Catalpa
- Pinus sylvestris
- Magnolia Susan
